Wildlife Images
Various morning and afternoon shots of turkey, deer and bird on nest box. Was out walking the dogs and checking on the water tank when Pasha (the Rottweiller) came across a snake which rapidly scooted into the tank (pond). After a couple of minutes the snake poked its head...
Strip Mowing
Together with spraying for weeds we also started our strip mowing efforts. Areas chosen were areas with dense weed residue from last year. We believe the weed was rag weed and the stems are tough and just don’t seem to break down. Spent couple of hours mowing three sections...
Start of weed control ’13
After last years (2012) heavy round of weeds and having thought I learned a little on what’s a ‘wildflower’ vs a ‘weed’ I went and got myself a sprayer for hookup to an ATV. After many tie-downs I got it mounted to our Teryx for some 4×4 action (as...

Quail! (and mowing)
Was out mowing this morning trying to beat the broom and ragweed which is starting to release pollen and came across some quail which was really a bonus as our last birding survey didn’t report any quail. The quail were spotted along the fence where I was mowing on...
Coyote
Besides these two images caught on our trail camera (happens to be near the old farmhouse) we have never seen any coyote – now we know with certainty that they are around. We have also purchased an additional camera which we will use to discover what is inhabiting the...
