Turkey feed
Boy, the turkeys do gobble up food. Had to add several bags of seed again today. Boys were along to help their Dad.
Filling water feed
A tad late on this posting (28 September 2011) – time to fill up the water tanks again, both of them have seen lots of visitors and it was time for a clean out and fill ’em up. As there were no implements attached to the tractor I decided...
Apple block and Porcupine
Was out with Duane this morning to add a apple block to a post to see if I could attract the woodpeckers helping them in this dry period as well as increase some photo opportunities. The block has six nails to hold up to 6 apples. I have heard...
Armadillo
Met this little guy by the gate this weekend. It was very skittish and I just managed to get a photograph.

Water for animals
Went out earlier this morning and downloaded images from trail camera – at least now we know that animals are using the water. The birds were also very active this morning. All the wrong side of the bird feeder to get decent shots. We’re really glad we added this...
Water Table
Installed a water table to provide much needed water for critters/birds. Table also collects rainwater to help replenish water. Tank is 300gallons and feeds ‘dog bowl’ which has float level sensor. We will be installing a trail camera to monitor animals coming to drink. Noleen at work guiding the...
Fire Ants
One of the sad truths around here is that we have more than our fair share of the imported red fire ant (check out items 3 and 4 on how to identify as they are many more good ants than bad ants!). These ant are invasive and their painful...
